UPDATE @ 11.05am: A cyclist has died following a serious accident at Hope Island this morning.
An elderly man, aged in his 70s, is understood to have crashed into a parked car on Hope Island Road around 9.15am.
Paramedics treated the man for a medical condition, however he could not be revived and died at the scene.

The police Forensic Crash Unit is still at the scene and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
EARLIER @ 9.45am: Emergency crews are currently at the scene of a serious accident involving a car and cyclist at Hope Island.
The accident occurred just after 9.15am on Hope Island Road, between Monterey Keys Boulevard and Riverlinks Boulevard.
At least four Ambulance crews are on scene.
Queensland Ambulance confirmed to myGC that an elderly man, aged in his 70s, was being assessed by paramedics.

Motorists are being told to avoid the area with delays expected.
