Cyclist critically injured in Coolangatta crash
UPDATE @ 7.45am: A female cyclist has been critically injured in a collision with a ute in Coolangatta this morning.
The accident happened at the intersection of Petrie Street and Marine Parade just after 6.45am.
Queensland Ambulance confirmed a woman, aged in her 30s, was treated at the scene before being rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital with serious head, chest and leg injuries.
Marine Parade from Dbar Hill to Snapper Rocks Road and Petrie Street has been closed as a result of the accident.
Motorists are being urged to avoid the area.

EARLIER @ 7.00am: A WOMAN has been injured in a serious cyclist and vehicle incident in Coolangatta this morning.
It’s understood the bike and vehicle collided at the intersection of Petrie Street and Marine Parade just after 6.45am.
A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson confirmed paramedics were treating one person for a serious head injury.
Multiple emergency crews are on scene.
Motorists are being urged to avoid the area.
