Man dead after horror motorbike crash in Advancetown

A motorcyclist has died after a horror crash in the Gold Coast hinterland.

The accident happened just before 1:30pm on the corner of Beechmont and Nerang Murwillumbah Roads, Advancetown.

Police said the road will be closed for several hours, with motorists urged to avoid the area.

EARLIER @ 2:00pm

A man has been seriously injured and a major road has been closed following a motorbike crash at Advancetown this afternoon.

The accident happened on Beechmont Road just before 1.30pm.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson confirmed a man, whose age is not known, was currently being treated at the scene by paramedics.

Beechmont Road near Advancetown has been closed and diversions are currently in place.
