Two injured in serious multi-vehicle crash at Tamborine

UPDATE @ 9.45 AM | TWO people have been rushed to hospital following a serious multi-vehicle crash at Tamborine this morning.

The accident happened at the intersection of Beaudesert Beenleigh Road and Mundoolun Connection Road just after 7.00am.

Three vehicles are understood to have been involved in the smash, with one of the drivers having to be cut free from the wreckage of his vehicle.


The 38-year-old was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition suffering head, leg and internal injuries.

A 59-year-old female driver was transported to Logan City Hospital suffering neck and abdominal pain, while the third driver managed to escape unharmed.

Queensland Police say road closures are still in place, which are restricting traffic to one lane.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

EARLIER @ 8.00 AM | MOTORISTS are being warned to avoid Beaudesert Beenleigh Road in Tamborine following a serious multi-vehicle crash.

The accident is understood to have happened at the intersection of Mundoolun Connection Road just after 7.00am.

Emergency crews are currently working to free one person who is trapped in the wreckage of a vehicle.

“Emergency services are working to rescue a patient currently entrapped,” A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said.

Police confirmed the busy road was “down to one lane only and under tidal flow”.

Motorists are being told to expect long delays and to seek alternative routes.
