Man rushed to hospital after workplace accident at Burleigh

UPDATE @ 8.50AM: A MAN has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a forklift at a business in Burleigh Heads.

Crews rushed to the workplace just before 8.00am, after receiving reports of an accident involving machinery and a pedestrian.

A man, believed to be aged in his late 20s, was treated at the scene by paramedics for injuries to his head, back, shoulder and ankle.

He has since been taken to Gold Coast University Hospital with the assistance of the high acuity response unit and critical care paramedics.

Queensland Ambulance confirmed the man was transported in a serious but stable condition.

EARLIER @ 8.15AM: EMERGENCY services are currently on the scene of a workplace incident at Burleigh Heads.

One person is currently being treated by paramedics at the scene. The extent of their injuries and condition is not yet known.
