Emergency crews spend hours rescuing woman who crashed down embankment

Emergency services have spent hours winching a woman to safety, after a horror crash in the Gold Coast hinterland yesterday.

The woman had been on a motorcycle when she lost control and crashed down an embankment along Tamborine Mountain Road in Canungra.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services and paramedics were deployed around 2.00pm, where they spent almost two hours trying to get the woman back up the hill.

The vertical rescue team were called in as well.

She was finally transported to hospital around 4.00pm, with head, shoulder and lower limb injuries.

Queensland Ambulance reports she’s in a stable condition in the Gold Coast University Hospital.
