Emergency declaration lifted in Ashmore following police incident

UPDATE | An emergency declaration in Ashmore has now been lifted, with the police incident in the area now resolved.

Queensland Police were first called to the area around 12.45am and the PSPA was put in place around 3 hours later for areas around United Road, Corporation Drive, Community Drive and Dominions Road.

A man is believed to have surrendered himself to police just after 10.00am following several hours of negotiations.

No charges have been laid at this stage.

EARLIER @ 3.45am | POLICE have made a PSPA declaration due to an ongoing incident in Ashmore.

The declaration zone encompasses all of United Road, Corporation Drive, Community Drive and Dominions Road.

Queensland Police have urged anyone within this area to remain indoors and await instruction.

All others are being urged to avoid the area.
