UPDATE: Emergency revoked after suspicious item found outside Logan Police Station

UPDATE @ 1.45pm: Police have cancelled an emergency situation in Logan.

The all clear was given around 1.30pm, following the discovery of a suspicious backpack at Logan Central Police Station just after 11.40am.

Police thanked the public for their cooperation.

EARLIER @ 1.15pm: Police have declared an emergency situation in Logan after a suspicious item was found.

An alleged suspicious backpack was discovered at the Logan Central Police Station, forcing the precinct to evacuate.

It happened just after 11:40am, with neighbouring properties also evacuated.

The exclusion zone including Jacaranda Avenue, Brownhill Street, Karri Avenue, Democracy Way and parts of the Logan Gardens parklands.

Members of the public are advised to avoid the area and those within the exclusion zone are asked to remain indoors until further notice.

Specialist officers including the explosive ordnance response team are on scene.
