There will be an emergency management exercise carried out at Sydney Olympic Park today.
‘Exercise Deerubbin’ hopes to test emergency management arrangements in the event of a major flood in the Hawkesbury-Nepean Valley.
It’s a state based exercise involving 25 agencies and organisations including NSW Police Force, the SES, the Bureau of Meteorology, Office of Emergency Management, Transport NSW, and NSW Health.

It’ll involve testing the activation, establishment and decommissioning of a Mass Care Facility in Sydney Olympic Park.
500 role-players are involved, with the exercise to begin this morning at 9.00am, and wrap up around 3.00pm.
Members of the public are being told not to be concerned if they see emergency vehicles in the area.
