Emergency situation declared at Qld home

UPDATE @ 4.00pm: A second man and a dog have been released from a Redcliffe home after being holed up inside by a man, believed to be armed with a homemade gun.

The siege has now entered its 6th hour with police continuing to negotiate with the armed man.

An exclusion zone remains in place.

UPDATE @2.30pm: An elderly man has been released from a Redcliffe home after being holed up inside by a man, believed to be armed with a homemade gun.

Police declared an emergency situation at the Klingner Road residence just after 10am.

Police remain at the scene negotiating with the armed man.

EARLIER: Police have declared an emergency situation at an address in Redcliffe.

Officers were called to a residence on Klingner Road at 10am following reports of a disturbance.

Police declared the emergency situation after establishing that a man, who is believed to be armed, had barricaded himself inside the house.

It is believed there may be others inside the home.

An exclusion zone has been established which encompasses Scarborough Road to Watt Street and Pinewood Street to Yates Street.
