Man in custody, emergency situation revoked in Woodridge
UPDATE @ 4.30pm: A man is now in police custody and an emergency situation has been revoked following an incident at Woodridge today.
Around 2.35pm, police arrested a 35-year-old man following extensive negotiations.
Police said that enquiries after the man’s arrest indicate that he was not armed during the incident.
EARLIER @ 11.45am: A siege is currently underway in Logan with a man, believed to be armed, refusing to leave a unit.
Officers descended on the Nyanza Street complex in Woodridge around 8.30am this morning after receiving reports of a disturbance.
An emergency situation was declared just after 9.30am after the man refused to leave the building.
An exclusion zone has been established on Nyanza Street, bounded by Mikaga Court and Strathdarr Street to Kurrajong Street and Nydia Street.
Police remain on the scene as negotiators attempt to speak to the man.
