An emergency warning has been issued in New South Wales with two large fires burning in the Hunter Valley.
People who live in the areas of Charles Street, York Street, Ridley Street and Carrs Road have been urged to seek shelter immediately.
“Residents in the areas of Charles Street, York Street, Ridley Street and Carrs Road are reminded to seek shelter as the fire approaches,” the NSW Rural Fire Service said in a statement.

The two separate fires are burning in the area of Abermain and Neath.
Firies say one fire is burning to the north of Carrs Road heading south east towards Carrs Road, Neath with the second fire burning near Forbes Street, moving towards Charles Street.
“Firefighters are currently on scene working to control the fires with assistance from water dropping aircraft.”
More than 1500 homes and businesses have also lost power in the area.
