Employee glassed in fight with kitchen staff at Sydney restaurant

A MAN has been slashed across the face with a broken bottle during a fight between kitchen staff at a restaurant in Sydney’s CBD.

The violence broke out in the kitchen of a restaurant on Clarence Street just after 1pm on Saturday.

Police were called to the scene after diners phoned triple zero to report a fight between two staff members.

Officers arrived to find a 24-year-old male employee bleeding from wounds to his head and face.

It is alleged the man had a bottle smashed over his head after a shouting match with a fellow work colleague escalated.

The man was then slashed across the cheek with the broken glass.

He was assisted by fellow colleagues until emergency services arrived.

Paramedics treated the man at the scene before he was transported to St Vincent’s Hospital.

A 34-year-old man who police said also works at the restaurant was arrested at the scene and charged with reckless wounding.

He was remanded in custody overnight to appear in Parramatta Local Court today.
