Get ready for an opulent celebration to mark the Lunar New Year at The Star Gold Coast.
The resort is ushering in the Year of the Ox, with an array of special dining experiences and entertainment from Thursday 11 until Friday 26 February.
Chief Operating Officer Jess Mellor said colourful entertainment would bring a festive flavour.

“Our talented chefs have created authentic and tantalising special dishes and menus to ensure everyone can celebrate this significant event on the cultural calendar in spectacular fashion,” Ms Mellor said.
“What better way to mark this auspicious occasion than to watch a dazzling lion dance and firecracker performance before tucking into dim sum at Imperial at the Star, or traditional Lunar New Year cakes at Mei Wei Dumplings?”
Mei Wei Dumplings (which, by the way translates to ‘delicious’!) is expected to pump out more than 200 kilograms of dumplings over the course of the festival, while Imperial at the Star is planning to plate-up over 350 kilograms of king prawns!
“For a prosperous and luxurious start to the Lunar New Year, guests can indulge in our most decadent seafood with Kiyomi’s magnificent Seafood Celebration Platter,” Ms Mellor added.
The lavish platter platter of sashimi lobster and Siberian Black Pearl Caviar will set you back $888, and has been designed to bring families and friends together in a luxurious celebration of new beginnings and the promise of an abundant and prosperous new year.
Ms Mellor said The Star had placed considerable thought into every detail of its Lunar New Year program to ensure guests who could not travel overseas for traditional family celebrations could still enjoy an authentic experience.
The lion dance begins with a bang as firecrackers are lit at the main entrance before weaving their way through the Atrium and Imperial at the Star restaurant, before dancing through The Darling Lobby to end the performance in the main foyer.
