Enjoy Opera in the Park at Broadbeach this weekend

LOVE the opera or musical theatre?

Then this Saturday night you’ll want to grab a picnic blanket and head to Kurrawa Park in Broadbeach for Opera in the Park.

Opera stars Amelia Farrugia and Donald Cant will join a host of local talent, the Gold Coast Youth Orchestra and the Gold Coast Youth Choir  to perform hits from shows including Les Misérables, Phantom of the Opera, Chess and many more.

Amelia Farrugia is one of Australia’s favourite star sopranos, who has performed title roles for Opera Australia, The Metropolitan Opera in New York and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, while Donald Cant is one of Australia’s leading musical performers and is best known as one of Australia’s ‘Phantoms’ in Phantom of the Opera.

Broadbeach Alliance CEO, Jan McCormick said they are incredibly proud to deliver such an amazing calibre event for the local Gold Coast community, whilst remaining completely free to attend.

“The success of our recent events has meant music lovers of all kinds have found a home in Broadbeach, Opera in the Park offers something different with the special one-night-only experience in Kurrawa Park.”

“What makes Opera in the Park so unique is that you are able to watch an exceptional show complete with Australia’s premier talent that includes tunes from the most notable Broadway and Opera shows that people of all ages can enjoy.” She adds.

The must-see event follows on from an unbelievable ‘winter festival’ season for organisers Broadbeach Alliance with the hugely successful Blues on Broadbeach Music Festival, the second annual Broadbeach Country Music Festival and the popular Broadbeach Jazz Festival.
