Event Cinemas Pacific Fair to launch first ever ticket sales with Star Wars: The Force Awakens

One of the most highly anticipated cinema launches in the country will have its first interaction with cinema goers today when Event Cinemas Pacific Fair launches advance ticket sales for the epic arrival of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

With the cinema property not due to have its official grand opening celebrations until the 5th November 2015, Event Cinemas Pacific Fair from this afternoon will be offering patrons a chance to pre-purchase their tickets for this epic film.

Even more exciting, they’ll be amongst the first to experience a true big screen blockbuster, in the brand new, state of the art cinema complex when the film releases in cinema on December 17.

Even before opening day, Event Cinemas Pacific Fair is already poised to be amongst the absolute best properties in the popular cinema chain, where cinema goers will find an experience to suit all tastes, with state of the art technology, the ever popular Vmax experience, 3 x luxury Gold Class cinemas and the all new Dolby Atmos® providing an immersive sound experience most have only dreamt of before.

Event Cinemas Pacific Fair General Manager Jason Choules is excited that his first interaction with customers is the chance for them to pre-purchase tickets to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, ‘this film will undoubtedly be the biggest release that I have seen in my time working in the industry and I am so excited to be able to present this film in a brand new state of the art complex. It will be a movie memory that will last a lifetime for our patrons and staff alike’.

After a few hours ticket pre-sales for Star Wars: The Force Awakens had eclipsed all previous pre-sale records at Event Cinemas. 1,200 tickets were sold in the first minute (7.01am QLD time) growing to 10,000 tickets in 10 minutes with over 30,000 tickets sold to date. To put this phenomenon in perspective – o The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 had sold 7,726 tickets at the end of the first day o Harry Potter and The Deathly Hollows Part 2 sold 7,258 tickets at the end of the first day o The Avengers entire pre-sales tallied 26, 988 tickets – Star Wars: The Force Awakens exceeded that in 4 hours.

“We anticipated the ticket sales for Star Wars: The Force Awakens to break records, however the pace in which this film has achieved this is remarkable,” said David Seargeant, Group Managing Director AHL.

“It is great to see the fans really embracing the last instalment of the Star Wars franchise and in particular purchasing tickets to the midnight screenings in our Vmax cinemas which offers the ultimate cinema experience and is the best way to watch this film.”

To meet the unprecedented demand, Event Cinemas will continue to open more and more sessions – including the highly coveted Gold Class and Vmax and 3D experiences.
