Ex GC policeman fined, lost licence, over high speed pursuit through Pac Pines

Notorious former Gold Coast senior sergeant Chris Hurley has lost his licence and been fined, after being found guilty of dangerous driving during a police pursuit.

No conviction has been recorded.

Hurley repeatedly drove on the wrong side of the road without turning on his sirens or lights during the chase through Pacific Pines in May 2015, forcing other cars off the road.

The 49-year-old, who has taken medical retirement from the force, was fined $800 and suspended from driving for six months.

Southport Magistrates Court was shown vision of the chase, with Hurley forcing other drivers off the road.

The magistrate said as well as that, he used an unauthorised manoeuvre to force the car he was chasing into a spin.
