Ex NRL player Anthony Watts expected to be quizzed over wedding guest assault

Former NRL player Anthony Watts is expected to hand himself into Gold Coast police on Monday morning.

He’s been laying low since he was linked to an assault at a Mudgeeraba wedding on Friday night.

Watts is wanted for questioning after the husband of a bridesmaid was assaulted.

Watts phoned his Lawyer, Campbell MacCallum, on Sunday to say he was willing to cooperate with police.

He also denies all of the allegations.

MacCallum told Nine News Watts “said there was an argument, there was some heated words exchanged between both parties, it’s unclear what actual physical confrontation occurred”.
