A former tennis player has been crash-tackled to the ground by police officers in the United States in a case of mistaken identity.
The New York Daily News reported that five undercover officers slammed James Blake to the ground outside his midtown hotel Wednesday.
The 35-year-old, once ranked No. 4 in the world, suffered a cut to his left elbow and bruises to his left leg. He was handcuffed and held for 15 minutes outside the Grand Hyatt.

The Hyatt is the official hotel for the US tennis open.
“It was definitely scary and definitely crazy,” said Blake.
He said that none of the men initially identified themselves as a police officer. His right eye appeared a bit red hours later at the hotel.
The arresting officers have been investigating a credit card fraud operation.
