Ex ‘The Block’ contestant Suzi Taylor charged with extorting man she met on Tinder

UPDATE @ 11.45 AM | Former reality TV star Suzi Taylor has been refused bail after being charged with extorting a man she met on the dating app Tinder.

The 49-year-old, who appeared on The Block in 2015, is accused of luring the 33-year-old man to her New Farm Apartment just after midnight on Wednesday.

Police say Taylor allegedly demanded money from the man and when he refused, a second man, 22, allegedly entered the room and assaulted him.

“The woman also allegedly assaulted the man before the pair forced him to undertake an online transaction,” police said.

Taylor and her co-accused, Ali Ebrahimi, appeared in Brisbane’s Magistrates Court on Friday morning, where they were both remanded in custody.

She’s due to face court again on November 25.

EARLIER @ 6.45 AM | Former reality TV star Suzi Taylor has been charged with a string of offences after allegedly extorting a man she met on the dating app Tinder.

The 49-year-old is also accused of assaulting the man, who was allegedly held against his will at her New Farm apartment on Wednesday.

Queensland Police confirmed the incident in a statement overnight.

“Just after midnight, a 33-year-old man attended a residence after meeting a 49-year-old woman on a dating application,” the statement says.

“A short time later, the woman allegedly demanded money from the man.”

When the victim refused, another man, aged 22, allegedly entered the room and assaulted him.

“The woman also allegedly assaulted the man before the pair forced him to undertake an online transaction,” police said.

The duo then allegedly stole his bank card and withdrew money from his account.

They’re due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today, charged with one count each of extortion with intent to gain benefit with threat of detriment, deprivation of liberty, assault occasioning bodily harm and possessing dangerous drugs.

Taylor and a female friend featured on the popular reality TV series The Block in 2015 and took home $349,000.
