Eyes to the sky for Saturn in the Park

It’s one of the most stunning planets in our Solar System, and right now we have a great view of Saturn from here on Earth.

To celebrate this terrific opportunity, the Southern Astronomical Society is hosting Saturn in the Park, offering Gold Coasters the chance to view Saturn up close through the large telescopes owned and operated by their members.

The free viewing night will be held at Paradise Point on Saturday from 6pm and will also give people of all ages a terrific look at Jupiter, the Moon (pictured) and other celestial objects.

Telescopes will be set up in the park next to The Esplanade, adjacent to Mallard Ave.

More information on the event can be found at the Society’s website.

If the night is too cloudy, the event will be cancelled.
