Facebook introduces profile videos

EVERY wanted to have a video instead of your plain old profile picture on Facebook?

Well, the social media site has heard your calls.

Facebook has announced it will introduce changes to its smartphone app so users can have looping videos instead of a simple pictures.

The Facebook newsroom website said the changes “add a new dimension to your profile”.01-Video_GIFS_Final_Opt3_Large-2

Instead of a profile photo, users will be able to have a short, looping video clip.

Users can also set a temporary profile picture to celebrate specific events, which will revert back after a set time.

“We’re making it easier to showcase the you that matters most to you,” said the introductory video on the Facebook website.

The new features will be tested by a small number of people in the UK and California before being rolled out globally.
