Facebook is attempting to make the heartache of a break-up a little easier with their new ‘break-up protection’ feature.
The social media network is currently trialing the feature on mobile devices in the US, before deciding whether to offer it to grieving ex’s in the rest of the world.
The optional feature, which spares people from constantly seeing their former partner’s posts and pictures in their news feed, is designed for those who don’t want to go to the extreme level of blocking them.

After changing their relationship status on Facebook, people will also be allowed to remove their names from past posts linking them to an ex-lover.
