Facebook has this morning announced that they are changing the algorithm of news feed, with a ‘friends and family before publishers’ approach.
Basically, this means that the social media platform will analyse and choose to show posts from your friends and family higher up your feed, with posts from other pages like news outlets and businesses further down.
“Facebook was built on the idea of connecting people with their friends and family. As we say in our News Feed values, that is still the driving principle of News Feed today,” a statement from Facebook reads.

“Our top priority is keeping you connected to the people, places and things you want to be connected to — starting with the people you are friends with on Facebook.
“That’s why today, we’re announcing an upcoming change to News Feed ranking that helps you see more posts from your friends and family.”
