It seems some users are receiving messages from MPs saying they’re ‘using Messenger without Facebook’.
Premier Palaszczuk has advised the message is fake and should be disregarded.
Gold Coast based MP Stuart Robert has also been affected by a fake account, also taking to his real Facebook page to alert his followers.
“It has been brought to my attention that a fake Facebook account has been set up impersonating me,” his post reads.
Minister Robert says they’re working to have the account removed as soon as possible.
It’s unclear exactly how many of these fake accounts are currently operating.
Facebook is also investigating the matter.
