Mums, dads, grandparents and kids were all out last night, saying goodbye to 2013.
The Surfers Paradise fireworks display lived up to its hype and is been dubbed the most spectacular show in Gold Coast history.
At 8pm around 35,000 people packed the sand between Narrow Neck and Northcliffe to catch the early fireworks spectacle.

More than 45,00 people attended the midnight finale to bid farewell to 2013.
More than three tonnes of crackers were used in the show, which cost around $100,000.
Thousands also packed into Paula Stafford Park to watch the sky light up.
Families were huddled together on blankets watching the fantastic Broadbeach fireworks display. Police say they were pretty happy with the overall behaviour of revellers across the Coast, with only a few arrests.
