It’s understood the man’s wife and 17-year-old son were also targeted as they tried to fend off the attackers.

Neighbours heard the commotion, called triple zero and raced to the family’s aid.

Paramedics were called and assessed all three family members at the scene, however, no one was taken to hospital. The man was treated for cuts and abrasions to his face, swelling and chest pain.

The three teenagers were arrested at the scene and taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station.

The trio has been charged with one count each of affray, intimidation, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

All three were remanded in custody overnight and due to appear at Parramatta Children’s Court by video link on Saturday morning.

According to the region’s leading newspaper, The Daily Advertiser, two of the three accused were granted bail after their appearance and will front Wagga Children’s Court next month.
