Family shot dead in rural Victoria
THREE members of a rural Victorian family have been killed after a minor neighbourhood dispute escalated.
Police were called to the Wedderburn house over the dispute – finding the body of a 48 year old man in a paddock.
They then heard shots at another property over the road.
A three-and-a-half-hour siege followed as police negotiated with a 63-year-old man – which ended when the man surrendered.
When police searched his property they found the bodies of a couple in their 70s – the parents of the man found earlier.
One body was found in the driveway and one was found at the home’s rear entrance.
Police say there was no history of violence, major disputes or ongoing assaults between the neighbours.
