Family’s pet dog rescued from burning Gold Coast home
A PET dog has been rescued from a burning house at Highland Park on the Gold Coast.
The Kilmuir Street home went up in flames just after 11.30am.
Fire crews arrived to find the building “well alight”.
A pet cattle dog was found overcome by smoke inside the home and is being treated at the scene.
An animal ambulance has arrived at the home to transport the injured animal to a local vet.
A firefighter was also overcome by smoke and had to be treated by paramedics at the scene.
No one was physically injured in the inferno.
The house has been destroyed.
