The famous ‘Packing Room Prize’ has been announced this morning, as 51 finalists for the Archibald Prize are unveiled at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
A portrait of renowned actor David Wenham titled ‘Through the looking glass’, has been voted for by gallery staff for the prize.
Head packer Brett Cuthbertson held 52 percent of the vote, and told Newscorp this morning that the decision was fairly easy for him.

“I love the reflection of the glass and that David’s in a reflective mood too.
“We blokes have a lot to think about these days,” Mr Cuthbertson said.
The artist – Tessa MacKay – has won a $1500 prize.
The painting (pictured below) took her 12 months to complete, and can be viewed at the Art Gallery of New South Wales along with the other 50 finalists.
The $100,000 Archibald Prize will be awarded next week.
Over 900 portraits were submitted for the esteemed Australian award, though the finalists have been narrowed down to just 51.
