Famous playwright behind Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? dead at 88

The man who wrote well-known play Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? has died at the age of 88.

Edward Albee won three Pulitzer Prizes during his lifetime and died at home in New York on Friday.

His personal assistant said he passed away after a short illness according to the ABC.

Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? opened on Broadway in 1962 and was made into a film starring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton in 1966.
