THE WORLD surfing title race is heating up ahead of Tuesday’s Billabong Pipe Masters in Hawaii.
Gold Coast’s Mick Fanning is currently leading the Championship Tour standings closely followed by the three Brazilians in Filipe Toledo, Adriano De Souza and reigning World Champion Gabriel Medina.
This event is the last stop on the Samsung Galaxy Championship Tour and might possibly be Mick Fanning’s last.

Fanning gave a vague indication of his future after taking out the Vans World Cup at Sunset.
With pumping surf expected for Hawaii, it’s safe to say the break is one of the most unpredictable on tour and any one of the top four have the opportunity to take it out.
Meanwhile, Hawaiian Carissa Moore clinched her third world title on the Women’s Championship Tour by edging out Australian Sally Fitzgibbons in the Maui Pro.
