GOLD COAST V8 Supercars fans will get the chance to go head-to-head some of the world’s most prominent drivers at a special ‘Karting Superstars’ event at Nerang this afternoon.
Locals will get to battle it out on the track at Slideways against Bathurst 1000 Supercar winner Paul Morris, his team mate Steve Owen, two time and current V8 Ute Champion Ryal Harris, current V8 Utes Championship leader Kris Walton, fellow V8 Ute drivers Spud Wood and Jesse Dixon,National Saloon driver Ben Grice and V8 Ute driver and Slideways owner Cam Wilson.
Wilson said the Gold Coast 600 was one of his favourite times of the year with some “not-to-be missed races” over the weekend.

“Holding the ‘Slideways Karting Superstars’ event is a great chance for racing fans to meet their idols in the lead up to the weekend’s competition. I’m competing on the weekend, so it’s great to have some friendly competition before we get down to business,” he said.
“It’s fantastic we’ve secured such great drivers, especially Paul Morris who just took out Bathurst.
All eight drivers are bound to inspire some decent track times from the public.”
Fans are invited to race their idols from 3pm until 6pm .
Go karters with the fastest times will win a Gold Card Pass and two Castrol Edge Gold Coast 600 general admission passes for Sunday.
