Fatal accident under investigation in NSW

A deadly crash is under investigation on the mid north coast of New South Wales.

A motorcycle with a sidecar was travelling west along Princes Street, Cundletown, about 10km east of Taree, when it collided with a vehicle travelling east along the same road about 4.40pm on Sunday.

Emergency services attended; however, the 61-year-old rider of the motorcycle died at the scene. No other passengers were travelling with him.

The driver and passenger of the vehicle were not injured, and the driver was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from Manning Great Lakes Local Area Command are at the scene, and will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
