Fatal crash closes Pacific Highway near Macksville
A man has died after his sedan collided with a truck south of Coffs Harbour in NSW.
The horrific accident has forced the closure of the Pacific Highway in both directions between Nambucca Heads and Macksville.
Emergency services were called to the scene about 4am on Saturday, but couldn’t save the male driver of the car.
It’s believed the sedan had been travelling southbound on the Highway when it appears to have crossed into the northbound lane, colliding with the B-double that was heading north.
The truck driver has been taken to Macksville Hospital suffering shock. He will also undergo mandatory tests.
The highway is expected to be closed for some time as the site is examined and the wreckage is removed.
