Fatal crash linked with robberies in Ipswich

Investigations are underway into a fatal crash involving a vehicle in Goodna early this morning, which may have been involved in two robberies.

Just before 2:30am police were called to the crash at the intersection of Albert and Audrey Streets.

The car involved had caught fire, which was extinguished prior to police arriving, and a man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are looking into whether the man and car may have been involved in two robberies prior to the crash.

A service station on Railway Terrace was robbed at just after 2am followed by the robbery of a taxi driver occurred in a carpark of a fast food restaurant on Church Street at around 2:20am.

Investigations are continuing.
