Father of four dies after being hit by lightning in Adelaide storm
A father-of-four has tragically died after being struck by lightning during a ferocious storm that swept through Adelaide on Friday afternoon.
Police say the 39-year-old, who locals say was a youth pastor, was standing on the oval of Cornerstone Collage at Mount Barker, in the capital’s south-east, when he was struck about 2.30pm on Friday.
He was rushed to hospital, but sadly died shortly after arriving.
A 19-year-old girl who was also on the oval at the time was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with injuries to her feet.
It’s understood she was released overnight.
