FB steps up efforts to stop violent live streaming videos

Facebook’s going to hire thousands of extra people to monitor videos featuring crime and suicide, after murders were streamed live.

There’s already 4500 working on the problem, but CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced in a blog post another 3000 are going to be hired .

It follows criticism of the company not doing enough to stop live streaming of murders spreading on its service.

Videos and posts that glorify violence are against Facebook’s terms of service, but unless they’re reported by users the company usually doesn’t review or remove them.
