FBI tipped off about NY bomber in 2014 by his father

Just two years before Afghani-born American terror suspect Ahmad Khan Rahami, was reported to authorities by his father following a domestic incident.

Rahami, who is currently in custody awaiting further charges, is suspected of taking out bombings in New York and New Jersey over the weekend injuring 29 people.

According to his father, he had an argument with his brother and stabbed him, prompting a criminal investigation.

Federal agents allegedly did not interview Mr. Rahami at the time, and the investigation was subsequently closed.

Authorities are further investigating trips that Mr. Rahami made overseas, in particular to Parkistan.

Rahami is facing further charges including use of a weapon of mass destruction, which could result in the death penalty.
