Federal Health Minister hospitalised with ‘suspected infection’

Australia’s Health Minister has been admitted to hospital overnight, just days after receiving his coronavirus vaccination.

Greg Hunt was given the first round of the AstraZeneca Vaccine on Monday.

He was amongst some of the first people to receive that jab, which is now being rolled out around the country.

Minister Hunt’s office issued a statement overnight, saying the Minister is suffering a ‘suspected infection’.

However, they believe the infection is not related to the vaccine.

“He is being kept overnight for observation and is being administered antibiotics and fluid,” the statement reads.

“The minister is expected to make a full recovery.

“His condition is not considered to be related to the (COVID-19) vaccine.”

It comes the same day that the Victorian Premier was hospitalised after a nasty fall.

Dan Andrews broke several ribs and may have suffered a spinal injury after falling down wet stairs at his home yesterday morning.
