Female patient charged with attacking nurse at Brisbane hospital
A female patient has been arrested and charged after allegedly attacking a nurse at a hospital in Brisbane.
The incident allegedly took place inside the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in Herston at around 6.30pm on Saturday.
Police said a 44-year-old patient lashed out at staff in a ward before assaulting a 62-year-old female nurse.
It’s alleged the 44-year-old woman was also armed with a knife.
She was arrested and later charged with one count each of serious assault of a public officer performing function causing bodily harm, wilful damage and possession of a knife in a public place.
The nurse was treated for bruising to her hip.
Her accused attacker will front Brisbane Magistrates Court on June 29.
