A FEMALE teacher has been charged over historic child sex offences in Sydney’s south-west.
The woman, who is now 47-years-old, was arrested at a home in Padstow on Monday following an ongoing investigation into reports a male student was sexually assaulted at a high school in Birrong in 1997.
“Police will allege that the boy was 15 years old at the time of the alleged offences, and the teacher was 27,” NSW police said in a statement.

“Police will also allege that another boy, then aged 15, was sexually assaulted by the same teacher at the school in 1997.”
The woman has since been charged with 16 counts of aggravated sexual assault and five counts of act of indecency.
She was granted conditional bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday 10 January 2018.
Police are continuing to encourage any victim of sexual assault, no matter how long ago the incident occurred, to come forward.
