Festive treats galore at this year’s Christmas Markets GC

More than 10,000 people are expected to flock to the Broadwater Parklands this weekend to pick up some last minute stocking fillers.

The popular Christmas Markets GC will be trading this Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 4-10pm, with loads of festive treats on offer for the whole family.

“Every year the Christmas Markets GC put on a 3 day spectacular – and this years will be bigger and better than any other that we have organised,” Organiser Nicole Thomsen said. “ We are so excited with what we have achieved for this years markets.”

Gold Coasters still needing to finish their Christmas shopping will be spoiled for choice, with over 100 local businesses set to showcase their wares at the event. “Every year we love seeing people from all over the Gold Coast shopping in a relaxed environment and supporting local businesses and charities, whilst having fun with their families,” said Nicole.

But it’s not just about the shopping, with loads of family fun planned. Hitting the stage to sing a few tunes will be The Voice Australia’s Jenna Dearness-Dark and X-Factor’s David Bash. There will also be plenty of tasty food on offer too, from Christmas offerings such as Flammkuchen and chilled non-alcoholic mulled wine, to everyones favourites like gingerbread, glow fairy floss, pigs in blankets and ice cream cannolis.

The kids will be kept thoroughly entertained, with Santa set to make a impressive arrival by helicopter 5:30pm each day. “Every year the kids flock behind Santa to have a photo with him and tell him their Christmas wishes,” she said. In addition to the jolly man, there will also be amusement rides, Thomas the Tank Engine, jumping castles, craft activities and a family movie for the kids to enjoy.

If that isn’t enough, there is also Christmas Pet Parade planned this year, as well as a giant raffle to raise funds for Rosie’s – Friends on the Street Gold Coast.
