Fight escalates into double stabbing inside Albury home

A MAN has been charged after an argument escalated into a double stabbing inside a home at Albury on Thursday night.

Police and paramedics were called to reports of an assault at the home on Thurgoona Street at around 11.30pm.

On arrival, they found two 30-year-old men with stab wounds.

It’s alleged a fight broke out between the pair inside the home during which both were stabbed; one in the arm and the other in the leg.

Police say two other men then intervened and assaulted one of the injured men.

The two men with stab wounds were treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Albury Base Hospital for treatment to what police say are non life-threatening injuries.

A 32-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Albury Police Station where he was charged with affray.

He was been granted conditional bail to appear at Albury Local Court next month.

Police are yet to lay charges over the double stabbing.

Investigations are continuing and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
