Finks OMCG member charged over road rage assault

A member of the Finks OMCG has been charged following the brutal assault of a man in a market carpark in Carrara yesterday.

Police say that at about 12pm yesterday a man drove into the carpark and cut off a female driver. The man waved an apology to the woman before she returned the wave and let the man proceed to his park.

Another man has then approached the vehicle, and allegedly repeatedly punched the man in the face.


The offender, a 24-year-old Biggera Waters man then took off on a motorcycle.

He was later arrested at a Biggera Waters home and charged with one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm, common assault, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and possess category M weapon (flick knife).

He is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court today.

“Members of the community have a right to go about their daily business without fearing for their own personal safety,” Detective Inspector Phillip Stevens for Taskforce Maxima said.

“Members of OMCGs believe that violence is the answer in most situations, this is not the case and it will not be tolerated.
