Fire at NSW school ‘deliberately lit’

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fire at a school in Warnervale last night, which is being treated as suspicious.

Between 10.30pm and 10.40pm Tuesday 24 November 2015, emergency services were called to the college on Sparks Road, after fire alarms at the location were activated.

Fire & Rescue NSW officers attended to the fire, which was extinguished a short time later, causing extensive damage to a wall and smoke damage to classrooms.

Officers attached to Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Initial investigations indicate the fire was lit deliberately, and police are appealing for anyone who noticed suspicious activity in the area at the time of the incident to come forward.
