MULTIPLE fire crews are battling a fire which has flared up in gusty conditions in the Gold Coast hinterland.

It’s understood the blaze started near Little Nerang Road & John Rodgers reserves west of Mudgeeraba at around 4pm.

Four fire crews are at the scene fighting the blaze in the area of Little Nerang Road, near Gold Coast-Springbrook Road.

Flames are being fanned by westerly winds which are currently gusting at more than 40 kilometres per hour on the fire ground.

There are dozens of homes in the area, however, the blaze is not thought to be threatening any property at this stage.
