Fire crews discover human remains after putting out fire in State Forest

HUMAN remains have been found in bushland on the NSW mid-north coast this morning.

Fire crews made the tragic discovery around 6.00am on Yarratt Road after being called to put out a blaze in the Yarratt State Forest.

According to NSW police, the remains are believed to be those of an adult.

A crime scene has been established and investigations are underway.

A post mortem examination will also be conducted to confirm the identity and cause of death.
