Fire crews race to reports of factory fire in Sydney
UPDATE 5:45PM | Firefighters are struggling to contain a fierce blaze which has engulfed a two-storey factory building in Sydney’s Inner West.
Emergency services were called to the factory ablaze on Maude Street in Marrickville around 5pm.
Crews arrived to find the ground floor well alight.
It’s understood the inferno has since spread and engulfed the entire building.
A high-rise fire-fighting truck has been dispatched to assist the multiple Fire and Rescue crews already at the scene.
Surrounding buildings have been evacuated.
EARLIER 5:15PM | Emergency services are on the scene of a fierce factory fire in Sydney’s Inner West.
It’s understood the fire started on the ground floor of a two-storey factory building on Maude Street in Marrickville just before 5pm.
Multiple Fire and Rescue crews are making their way to the scene.
Police and paramedics are also responding.
Surrounding buildings are being evacuated as a precaution.
At this stage, there are no reports of any injuries.
