Fire crews rush to Runaway Bay bushfire

Multiple fire crews are currently on the scene of a bushfire in Runaway Bay.

The blaze broke out in the vicinity of Limetree Parade and Broadwater Street just after 11.00am on Sunday.

Firefighters are working alongside the road, so motorists are being urged to drive with caution through the area.

It’s understood some traffic restrictions may also be in place.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency service spokesperson told myGC that thankfully, no properties are under threat.

Residents are being urged to close their windows and doors, with heavy smoke likely to reduce visibility and air quality.
